Undergraduate Students

 

Congratulations to Meredith L. Zaritheny -- the Vice President for the Undergraduate Student Government (2008).

Meredith L. Zaritheny joined Undergraduate Student Government as a sophomore. Prior to becoming Vice-President, Meredith served as a Senator of College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, where she was an active member of the Academic Affairs and Promotion and Recruitment committees. She worked with the University Senate Scholastic Standards committee for a public hearing on student scholastic standards and has also worked ardently on improving academic advising in CLAS.

The Vice President is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Undergraduate Student Government. In addition to assisting the President, the Vice President supervises the daily operation of the Undergraduate Student Government office and staff. They are responsible for overseeing and hiring the professional and student work staff in the USG office and SOC. They work closely with Committee Chairpersons, Senators, and Committee members. The Vice President sits on University Senate as the student representative to the faculty and administration at the University of Connecticut. The Vice President also acts as the Historian for Undergraduate Student Government. The Vice President is elected by the student body at-large in the spring on a joint ticket with the President.
